What did you want to be when you grew up?

I clearly remember being a teenager, out in the paddock with Dad, shifting sheep - me on horseback, Dad in the ute. As we got the last of them through the gate, I dismounted to shut the gate and pause for a drink out of Dad's water bottle. There we were, leaning against the back of the ute and Dad asked the question all teenagers love "What do you want to be when you grow up?" I looked around me and said "This would be pretty good!" He laughed and told me "Farming is a mug's game, I think you should get an office job. That way you'll know what you're going to get paid every week." That day, right then and there, is when I formed the belief that you couldn't earn a living doing something you loved! I don't blame my dad, farming is a tough gig and he was just trying to protect me from all that stress.
So anyway, that's exactly what I did, I pursued a corporate career that would've made my dad proud, had he been around to witness it. I worked my way through the ranks in Local Government and in 2012 I was appointed as 1 of only 15 female CEO's out of the 140 local governments in WA but after 3 1/2 years in the role and 20+ years in an office, guess what!? I was stressed and unwell and I hated my job. I finally worked out that my definition of success has nothing to do with what job you have or what car you drive, it is about being happy. So I did a bit of soul searching and then I began designing a life that makes me happy. I knew I wanted to live on the land, so I bought a few acres, I knew I needed to heal myself so I did the work and I discovered doTERRA, I knew there were people I cared about, who needed these incredible oils in their lives too so I began to share them. This is me today... I wonder what dad would think 😉

Are you living the life you really want to live or are you going through the motions and doing what your family or society tells you, you should be doing? Have you shelved your dreams or are you actively pursuing them? Have you made your health and happiness a priority?
