Dear 23 Year Old Me...

Dear 23 year old me, it’s going to be a rough few years but you are going to get through it. You will hit rock bottom when he is holding a screwdriver at your throat and you tell him to "just do it because it would be better than living like this" but he won't do it and you will find strength you never knew you had and resilience that will serve you for the rest of your life. You are not stupid for ending up in this situation, you are smart because you know it isn't healthy. You are not weak for not being able to make it work, you are brave because you will leave. You are not worthless because he couldn’t love you enough not to hit you, you are kind, compassionate and lovable. I want you to know that we have a bright, safe and happy future ahead and there is so much to live for. I love you xxx
